Thoughts on College

I decided to type this down as a note to provide a clearer perception on life after highschool.


Thoughts on College: Studies

- In College, you can't afford to miss a project or fail a term because it costs you money.

- In College, it's your choice to attend class or not, the professor won't be putting worry over your absence.

-In College, you cannot make "pakiusap" to the professor if you failed a subject, missed the deadline of a report...etc. It's now your turn to strive for it and be responsible for your obligations.

- In College, every lesson learned is a need for your future occupation. It's necessary to learn it by mind and heart.

-In College, you have to be serious.

A cry won't help. Prayers might.;)



Thoughts on College: After Graduation

- On Graduation (or before that), you have to submit your resumes before you even get your diploma.

- You need to have plan A, B, C and D.

- Your first paycheck won't be as high as you think.

- It will take years of investment( or so I think) before you finally get a house, car and all luxuries.



Thoughts on DURING and AFTER College: Mature and True Love

- While growing up, the horizon that separates True, Mature Love and Infatuation increases. You see, infatuation is when you get those butterflies everytime the person comes near, you can't wait or can't sleep when the person does not reply to your texts ( it may be because you don't have any assurance and you are dependent on communication as evidence of that "love"), you feel heavenly when you're with the person but there's nothing more than that. These are some of the characteristics of infatuation. It is when you don't care of the big realities shadowing it, there is no responsibility or stability behind it. Fighting over shallow things and it mainly revolves around it.It is plainly immature.

- True, mature love is based on security, stability and comfort.It is a decision to be made. It grows over time. It is when you are ready to live with responsibilities and face problems ( see the song in here and another one) with the person involved. You are giving up on greener grasses (your illusionary dreams to be married to your crush..etc) >You decide to grow old with the person. You have decided s/he is the person you'll be with when you worry about the bills, the cost of the house , the insurance of the car....etc. You'll accept the person even as they change. You'll never grow tired lying with the same person everyday before you dream and before you greet the sun. Looking after the person when they get sick, buy his/her medicines when s/he is bed ridden. You still love the person when s/he is nothing in your ideals ( rich, handsome/beautiful, talented) . You'll be satisfied to see him/her as you both turn your hairs to gray. Feelings that you get (the way you look, touch..etc.) haven't changed.You need that person because you love them (NOT: you love the person because you need them) , you are not expecting anything in return. This is real love.It is unconditional.
