Today's the start of the so-so RSPC (Regional Schools Press Conference).
Instead of being in Isabela the RSPC was relocated here in Tuguegarao.
Today I got to join for News Writing in English.
I don't have a clue about it.
But I'll try to share my experience which occurred an hour ago.
First Part
(Pre-NWE Event)
Oath taking (something something).
aytako finds it weird people do these things
and pronounce the words on paper and swear it for
conformity. Therefore, she did not raise her right hand
and merely stared at the paper she's facing AND
secretly jeered and guffawed
at those eager beavers staring and reading
at the Journalist's creed quite intently.
Second Part
(Lecture)
People out with their papers and pens!
Lez note down the lecture word per word.
A missed scoop over a gallon of ays cream is something!
Aytako mehs at it and proceeds on playing with her pen
and reading news on a PDI paper.
"How come people can take in so much notes?"
Third Part
(le concours correcte)
"People come in front!
Filipino at ze left, English at ze right!"
You can feel the tension blazing and soaring up!
It's like ze plague we need to be wary of!
Everyone's nervous or i-must-win headed!
Aytako knows she's nothing,
medoesn't care if i win or not.
so she decides to continue tapping her pen
and silently sing "someday..when my life has passed me by"
The info to be digested into news was presented.
Poor--we needed to copy it from a word document into paper
--3 pages..10 minutes.
WE lacked in time for the ff. reasons:
-the woman with the headband wanted to copy wholly the last paragraph of the first page.
Ooops. reason..but she iz "reasons".
If ya know what i mean *wink*.
Speaker decides to cut the data shortly into the information-hijacked first page.shoot.
Speaker and gay organizers chatted along.
Time to write the news!
Brief! Panty!
--short and spot on!
sabmit!
=================================================
Aftermath:
Over the dinner buffet:
My companion who wrote for Filipino
told me the gravity of expertise of the other participants involved in it.
Some are EICs. Some already won on Luzon wide nationals.
The woman with the headband already graduated cum laude
and has kids.
I stared at her. GOSH! she's staring at me like I'm prey!
i turned my back immediately.
but What iz i?haha.
a floating miniscule particle with a finite existence in this universe.
a truthful nothing.:-)
Those "great" people won't get through me with their
society indulged identities. i just knew it..
"People take things too seriously.."
You won't get out alive with these victories to boast anyway.
Neither a life well lived get through..
------------------------------------------------------------------
That's it for day one!
still got two events for tomorrow! woohoo-love!:-D
-aytako:D
